Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast is seeking a Monitor Tech to monitor ECG patterns, document strips, and alert RNs to dangerous rhythms. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and adherence to hospital policies while supporting quality care in a fast-paced setting.

You'll educate staff on the telemetry system, maintain equipment, and participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and safety across the unit.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support is required within 30 days of employment.
• High School diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret ECG strips and document findings in the medical record.
• Complete unit-based nursing competencies and follow hospital policies.
• Educate staff and physicians on the telemetry system usage.
• Monitor cardiac activity for arrhythmias and notify RN of changes.
• Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance safety and care.
• Maintain telemetry equipment and supplies, including cleaning and checks.
