Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Obtain Heartsaver or Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Complete Basic Dysrhythmia course as established by department.
• Graduate of Technical Education Program or Medical Assistant Program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac monitoring for telemetry and hard-wire monitored patients, identifying changes and reporting rhythms to staff.
• Analyzes, interprets, and documents ECG strip rhythms and changes per guidelines.
• Uploads rhythms/events to EPIC using Wave Strip Export.
• Monitors pulse oximetry for assigned patient population.
• Uses Epic/Telemetry Dashboard to ensure accuracy of admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Assembles telemetry packs and maintains inventory for nursing staff.
• Troubleshoots equipment with biomedical engineering and notifies appropriate supervisors.
• Greets and admits patients; handles routine clerical unit operations and documentation.
• Maintains patient records and department records for complete documentation.
• Facilitates intradepartmental and interdepartmental communications and transportation as needed.
• Provides information to visitors and assists with patient information requests.
