Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Telemetry Technician to monitor and maintain systems that transmit and receive data, perform electrocardiograms (EKG), and apply cardiac monitors. You will assist with regular device checks and document findings.

In this role you’ll download and interpret patient data, report significant findings to physicians, and provide excellent customer service while keeping equipment and work areas orderly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain data-transmitting/receiving systems.

• Record monitor notes and report significant findings to physicians.
• Answer phones, handle faxes, and keep work area organized.

Job description

The Telemetry Technician is responsible for performing various duties including monitoring and maintaining systems that transmit and receive data, assisting with regular device checks, performing electrocardiograms (EKG) and other duties as assigned.

Job Relationships

Reports to the Operations Manager.

• Perform electrocardiograms.
• Apply cardiac monitors.
• Assist with regular device checks.
• Perform adjustments to programming as per protocol or specific order.
• Download, interpret, and interrogate patient devices.
• Using independent judgement, report significant findings to the physician when appropriate.
• Prepare cardiac monitor notes.
• Answer the phone in a courteous manner.
• Receive and send faxes as needed.
• Access the computer to find results or answer questions.
• Keep work area clean, neat, and stocked.
• Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
• Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
• Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• National Telemetry Certification or Telemetry experience preferred.

Licenses/Certificates

• Basic Life Support
