Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Monitoring Tech to oversee continuous observation of patients' cardiac rhythms on telemetry. Responsibilities include applying and removing electrodes, and promptly notifying floor staff of rhythm changes and any life-threatening dysrhythmias.

The position requires HS/GED and completion of telemetry training with competency exams. This entry-level role offers on-site work within a nationally recognized health system with strong patient care commitments.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• 12 hours of telemetry department instruction to pass Part 1: Telemetry AV Conduction and Electrophysiology of the Heart.
• After 90 days of preceptorship, pass Part 2: Accurate Strip Interpretation.

Qualifications

Education: HS/GED required.
Additional Skills/Abilities: After 12 hours of instruction in the telemetry department, must be able to pass the 1st part of a 2 part comprehensive exam. Part 1 being 'Telemetry AV Conduction and Electrophysiology of the Heart' in order to maintain employment. After 90 days of preceptorship, must be able to pass the 2nd part of the comprehensive exam that will be presented, which consists of 'Accurate Strip Interpretation' in order to maintain employment.
