Job summary

Montrose Regional Health is seeking a Telemetry Technician to provide continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and support in the ICU. You will act as unit receptionist/clerical support, manage communications, and assist with patient care within the scope of practice.

The role requires BLS certification, ECG/dysrhythmia coursework, and relevant healthcare experience, with training periods for rhythm interpretation and 12‑lead ECG courses.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS/BCLS certification required upon hire.
  • Basic Arrhythmia course must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
  • AACN Essentials of ECG and Dysrhythmia Monitoring course required within one (1) year of hire.
  • In-person 12-Lead ECG course must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
  • Some relevant healthcare experience required.
  • Basic cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required, or the demonstrated ability to successfully acquire these skills within the required training period.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and surveillance for patients in the ICU.
  • Serve as unit receptionist and/or clerical support, managing communication and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with patient care activities within the scope of practice.
  • Accurately interpret and report cardiac monitor findings to the clinical team.
  • Promote patient safety and effective communication as an integral team member.

About The Career

The Telemetry Technician provides continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and surveillance for patients while supporting the efficient operation of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role functions as the unit receptionist and/or clerical support, manages communication and administrative responsibilities, assists with patient care activities within the scope of practice, and accurately interprets and reports cardiac monitor findings to the clinical team. The Telemetry Technician serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, promoting patient safety, effective communication, and high-quality patient care.

All About You
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Basic Arrhythmia course must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
