Job summary

UPMC Hamot seeks a Full-Time Telemetry Tech to join the Telemetry Operations Center and monitor patients across the hospital, coordinating with nursing staff to identify rhythm changes and ensure patient safety.

Shifts are rotating (7:00–7:00, 7:00–3:00, 3:00–11:00) with every other weekend and holiday rotations; strong teamwork and training provided during orientation are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required and Telemetry/Arrhythmia course within 3 months of hire.
• Completion of telemetry/arrhythmia course within 3 months of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret cardiac rhythms and recognize basic arrhythmias, reporting changes promptly to nursing units.
• Maintain accurate patient monitor records and ensure effective handoffs between shifts.
• Support nursing staff with lead placements and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Deliver safe patient care and communicate clearly with patients, families, and clinicians.

Full-Time Telemetry Tech | UPMC Hamot UPMC Hamot is seeking a Full-Time Telemetry Tech to join our Telemetry Operations Center, which supports the entire hospital. This team works closely with nursing staff to ensure patients are safely and continuously monitored.

Schedule:

• Rotating shifts:
  • 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
• Every other weekend rotation
• Every other UPMC holiday

About the Role:

The Telemetry Operations Center provides continuous cardiac monitoring for patients on telemetry units throughout the hospital. Telemetry Techs assist nursing staff by identifying and communicating rhythm changes in a timely manner to support patient safety.
