Job summary

ATC Healthcare Services is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care/Stepdown unit to provide high-quality care for patients requiring close monitoring. The RN will coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, monitor telemetry and vital signs, and ensure safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, adherence to protocols, and clear communication with patients and families regarding care plans and progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients transitioning from ICU-level care or requiring higher acuity monitoring.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, lab results, and clinical changes.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders.
• Manage patients requiring telemetry, titratable drips (unit dependent), wound care, and postoperative monitoring.
• Perform clinical tasks such as IV therapy, central line care, and airway support as permitted by scope.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other healthcare team members.
• Provide clear communication with patients and families regarding care plans, progress, and education.
• Participate in shift hand offs and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
• Follow hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence based practices.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety initiatives, infection control, and quality improvement protocols.
