Job summary

Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, TX seeks a Telemetry RN to provide patient-centered cardiac care using telemetry to monitor heart rhythms and vital signs. You will administer medications, assist in procedures, educate patients, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop individualized care plans.

This role requires 0-2 years of nursing experience, an active RN license, and BCLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred depending on unit.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.
• RN license and. Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS or NRP certifications preferred depending on unit.
• Strong communication, teamwork and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with nursing processes and policies.
• Documents patient assessments and reports changes to the care team.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within documented competency.
• Collaborates to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in CPR and code team activities.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control and patient safety practices.
• Documents care thoroughly and promptly in the medical record.
• Engages in professional development to maintain competency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
