Job summary

Alton Memorial Hospital's General Medicine Telemetry team seeks a compassionate RN to care for medically complex patients in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. New graduates are encouraged to apply; prior acute care or telemetry experience is beneficial but not required.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential. This night-shift role offers three 12-hour shifts weekly, every third weekend, rotating holidays, with shift differentials and immediate eligibility for BJC's 401(k).

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN/MSN) acceptable.
• New graduates encouraged to apply; acute care or telemetry experience beneficial but not required.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on illness management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Develops and documents individualized plans of care with interprofessional team and patient/family.
• Plans and communicates the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values and culture.
• This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe practice.
