Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Centralized Monitoring Unit (CMU) to monitor telemetry for ~300 patients in a fast-paced, highly technical setting. The role supports Central Monitor Technicians, enforces protocols, and ensures clear communication with inpatient teams.

Required BSN (MSN preferred) and CT RN license, with at least one year of telemetry nursing experience. CRAT or equivalent certification preferred; strong teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN is required or equivalent; MSN preferred.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience including telemetry.
• Current Connecticut RN license is required.
• CRAT or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong communication and clinical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Comfort with using clinical systems and telemetry technology.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate daily activities of Central Monitor Technicians to ensure accurate telemetry monitoring.
• Serve as a clinical resource for rhythm interpretation and telemetry best practices.
• Collaborate with the CMU Nurse Educator to provide training and reinforce policies.
• Assist in smooth transitions between shifts to maintain continuity of patient monitoring.
• Participate in daily team huddles and contribute to unit-based initiatives.
• Act as a communication link between CMU and inpatient staff for timely updates.
• Review staffing assignments and adjust as needed.
• Contribute to quality improvement efforts related to telemetry workflows.
• Coach staff in real-time situations to promote best practices.
