Job summary

Sparrow Health System in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing services, assess and plan patient care, and supervise co-workers as needed in a hospital setting.

You will follow hospital policies, deliver medications, monitor vital signs and telemetry, participate in discharge planning, and support quality improvement initiatives. A Michigan RN license, BLS, ACLS within 12 months, and Associate degree are required.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Course or equivalent within 12 months.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Previous direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition with head-to-toe assessments and initiate appropriate nursing care.
• Coordinate basic nursing care including hygiene, vital signs, and monitoring tests.
• Perform nursing activities per hospital policies and HIPAA/privacy standards.
• Develop and update plans of care based on assessments and discharge goals.
• Delegate care plan tasks to Patient Care Technician as appropriate.
• Engage in patient and family teaching and communicate with the care team.
• Administer medications and monitor blood products and IV access.
• Maintain equipment, ensure safety, and participate in quality improvement activities.
