Medical Center SE Texas Port Arthur is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead nursing activities on the unit during shifts as a charge nurse. Responsibilities include directing patient care, coordinating with physicians and staff, and advocating for patients while maintaining policy adherence.

Qualifications include Texas RN licensure, 2 years Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience, and unit-specific certifications such as BLS and CPI, with additional department education in NIHS, stroke, cardiac,

Competenze

2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.
Current Texas RN license.
Unit-specific certifications (e.g., BLS, CPI).
NIHS Scale, stroke education, cardiac education and ortho education as per department specific competencies.

Mansioni

Make patient care assignments based on patient acuity and staff competencies.
Promote patient-centered safety culture, teamwork and accountability.
Coordinate care among patient, physicians, nursing, and support staff.
Delegate tasks per Texas Administrative Code Rule 224.6 to ensure patient safety.
Activate the Chain of Command as needed.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, CMS, OSHA and regulatory standards.
Supervise agency/temporary staff and orient new nurses.
