Job summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) functions within the Maryland Board of Nursing scope of practice. The C.N.A.

cares for adult and geriatric patients on the 4G Telemetry and Progressive Care unit in Frederick Health Hospital, Inc., assisting the Registered Nurse and interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, quality patient care and support unit operations. Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
• Ability to use technology and equipment to perform job duties.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective use of proper body mechanics when handling patients, supplies and equipment.
• Ability to handle a physically demanding environment.
• Skills and abilities to perform all job description duties according to the age specific patient population served by their department.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN and unit in delivering safe, quality patient care and support unit operations.
• Assist with activities of daily living and postures to prevent skin breakdown; help with meals and mobility.
• Perform delegated interventions, including hourly rounds and basic clinical measurements.
• Record routine data and report changes to the nurse as required.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in orienting new staff and participate in staff meetings and unit projects.
