Job summary

Rochester Regional Health's Unity Hospital is seeking a Technician I to provide direct or indirect patient care under the guidance of a licensed nurse. The role emphasizes delivering quality, safe care and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities include bedside care, vitals, EKGs, specimen collection, room preparation, and mobility assistance. Shifts rotate day/evening/night with every other weekend, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Associates degree preferred.
• CNA certification or Nursing Fundamentals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care as delegated by a licensed nurse, focusing on safety and comfort.
• Clean equipment, change bed linens, stock supplies, and prepare rooms for admissions.
• Provide safe care for nutrition, skin integrity, elimination, and hygiene needs (bathing, grooming, comfort).
• Take vitals, monitor pulse oximetry, perform EKGs, assist with admissions and discharges.
• Collect and dispose of certain specimens.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, compassion, and professionalism.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and safe use of lift devices.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and family requests; follow safety initiatives.
