Job summary

Temple Health – Temple University Health System in the United States is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant with training to support patient care under RN supervision. You will perform vital signs, basic procedures, ECGs, venipuncture and telemetry tasks while assisting with unit secretary duties and environment of care.

The position prefers a high school diploma or equivalent and healthcare training programs; prior experience in telemetry and patient transport is a plus.

Qualifications

• Required: Nurses Aide/Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program or Fundamentals of Nursing Care Course in RN program.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• General experience as nursing assistant, medical assistant, monitor technician and/or unit secretary preferred.
• Experience as phlebotomist and/or unit secretary with telemetry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the registered nurse.
• Implement components of the plan of care through basic procedures and safety measures.
• Measure vitals, interpret cardiac monitoring strips and report to the RN.
• Perform ECGs, venipuncture, capillary glucose testing and related duties.
• Support Unit Secretary, Patient Transport and Environment of Care tasks.
