Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician on the 5th floor in Medical Telemetry. The role provides direct and indirect patient care under RN/LPN supervision on an on-site basis in Latrobe, PA. A high school diploma or GED is required; Nurse Aide training is preferred.

Responsibilities include vital signs, patient safety, and assisting with activities of daily living. Travel between Independence Health locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher required.
• Strong communication, problem solving and the ability to follow directions from team members.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to a diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care per hospital policies and standards.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient care needs as directed.
• Respond promptly to call lights, inquiries and requests from patients and families.
• Collect, document and report ongoing patient care data as directed.
• Measure and document intake/output and daily weights when indicated.
• Maintain patient safety and infection control practices.
