Qualifications

• Current North Carolina CNA listing.
• BLS American Heart certification required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent; CNA certification/experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine personal care and assists with activities of daily living for patients.
• Assists patients with body mechanics including ambulation, turning, positioning, transfer to chairs or stretchers.
• Notifies nurse of abnormal findings after performing procedures.
• Documents nursing assistant care provided to patients according to scope and policy.
• Observes infection control measures and maintains a clean, orderly unit.
• Performs clerical duties in maintaining reports and records of the patient care unit.
• Follows patient safety guidelines and uses patient identifiers as required.
• Assists with admission data collection and recording within policy.
• Demonstrates age-specific caregiving across neonatal to geriatric patient populations.
• Maintains ongoing education to sustain competency.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by licensed nurse.
