Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Emergency Services Technician to provide administrative/clerical support for an assigned area and to monitor telemetry as part of patient care.

The role reports to the Emergency Room Director, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent. EMT certification and BLS are relevant assets, with CNA license preferred. Prior experience is valued in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an approved EMT Paramedic or EMT Intermediate program preferred.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire.
• License: Certified Nursing Aide license is preferred.
• Minimum Work Experience: One (1) year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors.
• Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
• Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse.
• Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings to nursing staff.
• Tests equipment for proper working order.
