Job summary

Navarro Regional seeks a Monitor Technician to continuously observe telemetry monitors, document cardiac rhythms, and identify arrhythmias. You will communicate findings to the healthcare team and ensure monitoring equipment is properly configured.

The role supports patient safety and effective care delivery during night shifts, requiring attention to detail, reliable attendance, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment. BCLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period required
• 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting required

Responsibilities

• Continuously observe telemetry monitors and record rhythm strips at set intervals
• Identify rhythm changes and promptly notify the nurse or licensed staff
• Maintain communication with care team to ensure coordinated patient care
• Troubleshoot and resolve monitoring equipment; escalate to Bio-med or IT as needed
• Track and configure monitoring equipment for admissions, transfers, discharges
• Ensure correct lead placement and electrode application
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
