Job summary

Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Monitor Technician to provide continuous telemetry surveillance, document patient rhythms, and identify arrhythmias to support safe patient care. You will promptly notify the nursing team of rhythm changes, troubleshoot monitoring equipment, ensure proper lead placement, and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Qualification includes completion of a telemetry/EKG interpretation course and 0–2 years of clerical or clinical experience

Qualifications

• Telemetry/EKG interpretation course completed during orientation
• 0-2 years of clerical/clinical experience in a medical setting
• BCLS certification preferred or required

Responsibilities

• Observe telemetry monitors and record rhythm strips at set intervals
• Identify and promptly notify nurse of rhythm changes, including potentially life‑threatening arrhythmias
• Maintain effective communication with peers, staff, physicians, and leaders for care coordination
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with monitoring equipment; escalate as needed
• Organize and track monitoring equipment during shift for admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Ensure accurate lead placement and electrode application for optimal monitoring
• Maintain regular attendance and compliance with policies
