Job summary

Texas Health Kaufman is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician in the Telemetry Department for PRN night shifts at the Kaufman, TX facility. The role emphasizes monitoring patient rhythms and rates, documenting findings, and acting as a patient advocate within a collaborative care team.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or equivalent, BCLS certification maintained quarterly, and a solid understanding of medical terminology; rhythm interpretation is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BCLS certification prior to independent care and quarterly maintained.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology required.
• Rhythm interpretation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and use telemetry monitoring equipment competently.
• Collect, report and document patient rhythms and rate timely and accurately.
• Seek supervision when unsure of rhythm identification.
• Act as patient advocate within care teams.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and peers to deliver care.

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
• Basic Understanding/ability to learn medical terminology
• Rhythm Interpretation is strongly preferred.

What You Will Do

• Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
• Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.
• Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification.
• Serves as a patient advocate.
• Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers, and all other disciplines.
• Practices acceptable use of interpersonal relationship skills with patients, families, co- workers, physicians, all disciplines, and other customers.
