Job summary

Baptist Health Walker Hospital in Jasper, AL is seeking a Monitor Tech for full-time night shifts (3x12s). You will assist in continuous telemetry monitoring, verify baseline rhythms, and support nursing staff in rapid rhythm assessment and escalation.

The ideal candidate will have ECG competency, telemetry system experience, and a commitment to patient confidentiality. EMT/EKG/telemetry experience preferred; must pass rhythm tests with strong results during orientation.

Qualifications

• ECG competency assessment required with 84%+ in Rhythm Test during orientation.
• Monitor Technician with prior related experience preferred.
• EMT, EKG, or telemetry monitor tech experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and reviews patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm.
• Demonstrates competency in telemetry lead placement for rhythm analysis.
• Analyzes rhythm and records measurements every 6 hours or PRN.
• Notifies RN of rhythm changes and follows escalation protocols.
• Maintains telemetry system operation and alarm settings.
• Provides shift reports and coordinates telemetry initiation/ discontinuation.
