Job summary

Prisma Health’s Richland Hospital is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Tech to observe cardiac monitors, identify rhythm abnormalities, and document trends under a registered nurse’s supervision. Night shift at the Central Monitoring Station requires attention to detail and teamwork.

Based at the Central Monitoring Station during the night shift, you’ll triage calls, manage transmitter boxes, report system issues, maintain supplies, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience - No previous experience required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes cardiac monitors and reports changes in rhythm per policy.
• Receives reports from the prior shift and documents strips per policy.
• Manages and distributes transmitter boxes and ensures return to surveillance center after discontinuation.
• Reports problems with transmission and telemetry system failures to appropriate personnel.
• Completes telemetry summary reports per policy guidelines.
• Triages incoming phone calls, provides information clearly, and logs calls.
• Maintains supplies and keeps monitoring areas and equipment clean and organized.
• Participates in training and ongoing development of new staff; attends required programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
