Job summary

Cecelia Health is recruiting a licensed Dietitian to remotely deliver nutrition counseling and obesity management to US patients as an independent contractor. You’ll collaborate with physicians, monitor remote devices, and support medication management within established protocols.

The role requires an active RD credential, state licensure as needed, and a flexible 20+ hour work week. Enjoy a patient-centered practice with CEU support and performance-based bonuses.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Willingness to obtain/state licensure where needed to support member coverage.
• HIPAA compliant workspace with high-speed internet for secure patient conversations.
• Flexible schedule with a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intensive nutrition counseling and weight management education via phone, video, chat, text, and email.
• Provide medication management and support for obesity-related comorbidities under physician supervision.
• Engage in remote patient monitoring for devices (scale, BG, BP, ketone meters).
• Support dosing and titration of anti-obesity medications within protocols.
• Collaborate with team physicians and external providers to ensure comprehensive care.
• Establish rapport with a diverse patient population and drive behavior change.

What will you do?

• Conduct intensive nutrition counseling and weight management education via phone, video, chat, text, and email
• Provide medication management and support for comorbidities related to obesity under the supervision of assigned physicians
• Engage in remote patient monitoring for various devices (e.g., scale, BG meter, BP monitor, ketone meter)
• Support patients with dosing and titration of anti-obesity medications within established protocols
• Collaborate with team physicians and external providers to ensure comprehensive care
• Quickly establish rapport and therapeutic alliances with a diverse patient population
• Utilize motivational interviewing and other techniques to support behavior change
• Consistently meet program metrics while maintaining high-quality care standards
• Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.

What do you need to bring to the table?

• Must be a Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. If required, you must hold state licensure
• Willingness and ability to add state licenses as needed to support member coverage.
• Able to incorporate constructive feedback to improve patient interactions
• Must have a HIPAA friendly workspace with high-speed internet for secure patient conversations
• Comfortable with advanced technology, including electronic medical records and various digital tools
• Demonstrated ability to adapt communication techniques to meet the needs of a diverse patient population
• Flexible schedule with a commitment to a minimum of 20 hours per week
• Cannot hold full-time employment elsewhere
• Must live in the United States

What are some “nice to haves”?

• Certification from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) is strongly preferred
• Availability on evenings and Saturdays

Compensation:

• Pay: $42-47 per hour based on years credentialed by the CDR as a Registered Dietitian
• All-inclusive pay structure: hourly compensation for all work performed - including charting and administrative time (ie: not a flat fee per session)
• Longevity recognition: Receive a $500 bonus after 6 months, followed by quarterly bonuses beginning at your 1-year anniversary.
• Performance-based incentives: Earn additional pay for achieving and exceeding goals.
