Qualifications
- Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license required.
- 2 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner in mental health.
- Experience in Addiction and Mental Health.
- Willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
- Ability to conduct assessments across lifespan (13+).
- Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ mental and physical status.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions.
- Prescribe psychotropic medications with education on risks/benefits.
- Order tests (EKG, labs, etc.) and monitor results.
- Provide individual psychotherapy as needed.
- Educate patients and families about conditions and medications.
- Document histories, assessments, diagnoses and treatment plans in the EHR.
