Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast in Langhorne, PA is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support direct and indirect patient care under licensed clinicians. The role involves collaboration across clinical departments and telehealth encounters, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care tailored to diverse needs.

The PCT will participate in patient rounds, assist with supplies, and help maintain a safe unit environment, including when needed remote/virtual safety tasks and telehealth exams

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope.
• Knowledge of personal care and daily living activities.
• Awareness of risks in healthcare environments and how to reduce them.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with patients, families, and partners.
• Understanding of working with diverse backgrounds and effective collaboration.
• Strong communication skills and partnership with patients and families.
• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment for unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
• May serve as a virtual safety associate as needed.
• May assist with telehealth equipment and virtual exams as directed.
