Job summary

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to support physicians in our outpatient Primary Care department. The APP will handle inbox messages, convert to Telehealth when appropriate, and see about 10 patients per day via Telehealth.

Training lasts 2–3 months onsite, then a Telehealth model is pursued with a 90% fill rate. The APP will come onsite at least quarterly for meetings with the physician group; schedule is Monday–Friday, days.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required (nursing or PA)
• Current Illinois RN/APRN license or PA license
• Privileged/credentialed through MSO
• BLS CPR certification
• Minimum 2 years’ adult primary care experience as APP

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with inbox messages and Telehealth where appropriate
• See about 10 patients per day via Telehealth
• Spend 2–3 months in-clinic for training/onboarding
• Move to Telehealth model if 90% telehealth fill rate
• Occasionally onsite for meetings with physician group

Education

Master’s degree in nursing OR master’s degree from an accredited PA program

Illinois RN license and APRN license OR Illinois PA license

MSO Privileged and credentialed

BLS/CPR certification
