Our mission is to reverse chronic illness back to 1960s levels, cut 75% of US healthcare spend, and make the US the healthiest country in the world.
We aim to do this by unlocking tax-free spending for a whole class of effective non-pharmaceutical interventions that can cure, treat, prevent, or mitigate the chronic conditions that are currently decimating the country.
The evidence demonstrates that a whole host of non-pharmaceutical lifestyle interventions - exercise, supplements, sleep, red light therapy, etc - work as well (or better) than leading pharmaceutical interventions to treat, alleviate, or reverse many chronic conditions.
The majority of Americans are at urgent risk of getting sick or dying from the many chronic conditions that are decimating the country. And that effective lifestyle interventions are suitable for prevention in the same way that many drugs that are prescribed are used almost entirely for preventative reasons.
Philosophically, we have a functional medicine approach. We believe that one of the challenges with our current healthcare system is that every disease is treated in a silo: depression is viewed strictly as a mental health disorder, and SSRIs are the primary way to treat depression…. even though studies show that exercise, yoga, meditation, dance, and other lifestyle interventions work better than SSRIs for depression.
Rather than view chronic disease in a silo, Americans would be better off if their healthcare providers took a functional, holistic approach to thinking about addressing these chronic conditions. Through this lens, it’s apparent that interventions that improve metabolic health can improve many of the conditions that plague Americans today.
Today, 75% of U.S. deaths and 90% of medical costs are due to chronic conditions that can nearly entirely be reversed by food and lifestyle interventions. By focusing on metabolism and root-cause lifestyle interventions, we (along with the CDC) believe that we can reverse many of the chronic diseases that are crippling our country.
