Description

TELECOUNSELOR I

Operating in over 70 treatment centers across multiple states, we focus on medication-assisted treatment, counseling, support, and care management for patients with OUD. We address the whole person to support their recovery journey and treat patients with dignity and respect throughout their treatment experience.

We are seeking a Telecounselor I to serve our community as part of our team.

Job Summary

Telecounselors provide individual counseling via a HIPAA-compliant video platform to patients across the U.S. They may work remotely, adhering to schedules based on clinic needs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet clinical needs and support patient well-being.

Essential Functions

  1. Conduct individual counseling sessions via synchronous video communication.
  2. Educate patients on treatment aspects, health issues, and recovery steps.
  3. Maintain a minimum of 50% of hours in direct patient contact monthly.
  4. Complete all documentation, including screenings, psychosocials, treatment plans, and reassessments timely.
  5. Assist with intake, discharge, and transfer paperwork as needed.
  6. Document patient progress and ensure compliance with organizational and state requirements.
  7. Identify clinical needs and coordinate with the team to address them.
  8. Maintain communication with clinic leadership and support staff, responding promptly to emails and managing schedules.
  9. Report abuse, neglect, exploitation, and grievances as required.
  10. Coordinate urine drug screens and complete necessary documentation.
  11. Review and understand all relevant policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations.
  12. Obtain and maintain proper licensure and participate in inspections and surveys.
  13. Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and adhere to all rules and policies.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in a Human Services related field; current independent counseling license (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) preferred, or active registration as an intern with a plan to obtain licensure within 90 days.
  2. Knowledge of Substance Abuse and Telecounseling preferred.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize, and be dependable.
  5. Basic math skills.

Job/State Requirements

Full licensure in Florida (LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW). Willingness to get licensed in other states.
