Job summary

Job Description

The contractor shall have knowledge of phone installation work, including the setup and configuration of telephony systems. Install and configure telephony systems. Create drawings for new/revised lines. Maintain documentation. Optimize communications facilities through efficient cable/conduit planning.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • The contractor shall accurately record installation processes, configurations, and system setups.

  • The contractor shall also be responsible for planning and preparing drawings for the installation of new lines, as well as the removal or rearrangement of existing overhead or underground lines, cables, and conduits, with the goal of achieving optimum and economical utilization of communications facilities.



Required Qualifications


  • Possess BICSI certification (Installer 2, Technician, or OSP Technician); or 2-3 years of equivalent experience

  • 4+ years in OSP/ISP support

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Current passport and be willing to travel and work OCONUS

  • Typical office environment:

  • Must be able to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods.

  • Occasional standing while working in server rooms or at patch panels.

  • Must be able to lift and move moderately heavy equipment (e.g., routers, switches, servers) typically up to 30-50 pounds.

  • Manual Dexterity required for connecting cables, configuring devices, and handling small tools or components.

  • Must be able to view computer screens for long periods.

  • Ability to distinguish color-coded cabling and indicator lights.

  • Must be able to climb ladders or crawl in tight spaces for cable runs or equipment installation.

  • May require walking between different buildings or workstations.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with technical teams and end-users.

  • May need to hear alarms, server beeps, or equipment noises indicating issues
