Job summary

Sunflower Electric Power Corporation in Great Bend, KS seeks a Telecommunications Technician Apprentice – Journey to install, test, inspect, calibrate and repair electronic equipment, diagnose telecom problems and perform preventive maintenance. Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain an FCC General Radio Operator License within one year of employment.
• Two year post high school technical certification in an electronics program or related field, plus two years of related maintenance experience.
• EEI Technician Occupation Selection System (TECH) Test completion required.
• For Journey: four years focal electronic equipment installation and maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing, testing, inspecting, calibrating and repairing electronic equipment.
• Diagnose telecommunications problems and perform corrective and preventive maintenance as required.
• Learn and apply maintenance procedures in a field environment.
• Collaborate with other departments to broaden experience in the utility industry.

Education

FCC General Radio Operator License

Two year post high school technical certification

EEI Technician Occupation Selection System Test

EEI TECH Test

Four years focal electronic equipment maintenance experience
