US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) seeks a Senior Telecommunications Specialist to support the mission of the US Cyber Command. The role requires evaluating and improving communications networks and advising leadership on system design and implementation.

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA ISC/INFRASTRUCTURE DIRECTORATE (IE121). In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Individual Occupational Requirements:
Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Experience
Specialized experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13 grade level, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience overseeing complex telecommunications or network infrastructures, such as IP networks, fiber optics; or advising leadership or technical staff on the planning, design, integration, and implementation of agency-wide or large-scale communication systems; or developing local or organizational policies, procedures, and long-range plans for telecommunications capabilities; or directing technical projects, establishing milestones, and coordinating actions across different organizational units.
