Job summary

Jacobs is hiring a Telecommunication Project Lead to design and manage data center system projects, including structured cabling, wireless, audio/visual, and other low-voltage systems.

The role requires leading BIM designers, preparing engineering drawings, reviewing documents, and coordinating with project managers and clients. A technical degree and 4+ years in telecom design are expected, with a strong emphasis on standards and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems.
  • Familiarity working with Navisworks.
  • Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Familiarity with responding to RFP’s.
  • Experienced in creating a budget for a project.
  • Experienced in creating and maintaining a project schedule.
  • Credential as an RCDD or can attain it within 1 year.

At Jacobs our telecommunications project leads work on various projects as assigned by a Department Manager or Lead Engineer. This position will play a role in the entire design process including but not limited to

  • preliminary assessments
  • concept creation
  • leading designs with support from your peers, SME’s, and BIM designers
  • internal and external problem resolution
  • drawing and specification production
  • customer and vendor accessibility.

The telecommunication project lead may work on several concurrent projects and will be responsible to ensure that projects are completed on time.

As a telecommunication project lead, you’ll provide technical design leadership of systems for data center buildings which include structured cabling systems, wireless, audio visual, and other low voltage systems.

Here's what you'll need

Credential as an RCDD or can attain it with (1) year after being hired.

The base salary range for this position is $91,000.00 to $130,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
