Overview

As a Telecommunications Operations Manager, you will make an impact by leading end-to-end delivery and operational excellence across your assigned region. You will be a valued member of the Telecom Services team and work collaboratively with internal departments, technical teams, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery responsibilities for your assigned region, ensuring operational consistency and project continuity.
  • Provide high-level customer service and support to internal teams and departments.
  • Oversee telecommunications operations, ensuring user satisfaction and adherence to company standards.
  • Advise system users on cost-effective and efficient services and equipment.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal technical training across departments.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain telecommunications systems.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, plans, and processes.
  • Create routine project and progress reports.
  • Monitor budgets, approve payments and purchases, and track financial targets.
  • Perform administrative tasks including database updates and documentation.
  • Gather user requirements to prepare service, installation, and equipment orders.
  • Manage and coordinate departmental procurement activities.

What you need to have to be considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience managing field operations programs or projects.
  • Knowledge of basic telecommunication technologies (T1, DIA, SIP, PRI, POTS, 4G LTE, 5G).
  • Understanding of telephone models and data services equipment capabilities.
  • Familiarity with applications and interfaces related to telecom equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize ongoing projects.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and face-to-face).
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and inform decision-making.
  • Valid state driver’s license (if travel is required).

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $93,000.00 – $104,000.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
