Job description

Job Title: Telecommunications Installer (Level IV)

We currently have an opening for a Telecommunications Installer (Level IV) in our Central region. This position is 100% remote, with overnight travel to customer sites within the regional area. Periodic travel outside the region may also be required. The role reports to the Central Region Services Manager.

Preferred Location

Kentucky, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, or West Virginia.

Responsibilities

1. Work on circuit modifications, power transition operations, and the addition or removal of circuits on power distribution sources.
2. Test and turn-up power system equipment.
3. Oversee volatile work activities and perform Site Supervisor responsibilities on job sites.
4. Troubleshoot issues based on experience and judgment to meet goals, complete tasks, and resolve customer issues promptly.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and at least six (6) years of experience in DC power equipment installation.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel approximately 100% and work different shifts, including swing shifts.
• Preferred location: Kentucky, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, or West Virginia.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
• Operate motorized lift equipment for batteries weighing 80-750 lbs.
• Push or pull cables up to 60 lbs.
• Climb ladders up to 8 ft. and work on ladders for extended periods.
• Stand continuously and reach above, below, or at shoulder level.
• Bend, twist, stoop, crouch, or squat frequently.
• Work in environments with moderate noise, heat, and cold variations.

Desired Characteristics

• Strong customer service orientation.
• Prior field engineering experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Electrical degree, certification, or apprenticeship.
• Experience with AC electrical systems.
