Job summary

Fort Point in Houston seeks an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to lead telecom/IT scope from concept to detail design for large energy projects. You will coordinate with customers, develop strategy through stage gates, and supervise suppliers and contractors across diverse telecom and cyber security domains.

The role demands deep knowledge of CCTV, access control, PA/GA, network systems, telephony, and microwave/digital radio, with strong leadership and cross-discipline collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 15 years related work experience.
• Total minimum 10 years of industry experience.
• Experience with CCTV, access control, PA/GA, and telecom systems.
• Knowledge of cyber security implementation methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading supplier initiatives and cross-discipline collaboration.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEC, ISA, IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead telecom and IT scope definition from concept to detail design for oil, gas, refining, and petrochemical projects.
• Present to and coordinate with customers on telecom strategy.
• Develop telecom program strategy through stage gate processes.
• Direct activities requiring telecom, IT, and cyber security expertise.
• Coordinate with suppliers and third-party design/construction contractors.
• Develop specifications and requirements for telecom/IT/cyber security projects.
• Prepare designs and calculations to meet project requirements.
• Conduct field investigations and produce detailed field reports.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a quality product.
• Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and standards.
• Provide technical guidance to the design team.
• Engineer multi-vendor solutions with fault resilience across platforms.
