Power Your Future with Qualus as a Telecommunications Engineer! Qualus is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer with hands-on experience designing and implementing TAIT radio systems for local power utility clients. This role will support MHz and MLR telecom solutions from concept through construction, working closely with internal teams and TAIT to ensure standards are met and system performance is optimized. The ideal candidate brings strong field awareness, technical leadership, and a critical eye for reviewing and refining telecom designs.

Location: Preferred in New Hampshire or client territory. Remote considered.

Travel Requirements: Site walkdowns and field support may be required depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • conduct site walkdowns and create detailed telecom solutions including single line diagrams and construction handoff packages.
  • Develop equipment specifications and configure TAIT radio equipment based on system requirements.
  • Utilize preordered parts to assemble telecom components in line with engineering designs.
  • Review redlines, as-built documentation, and support construction through completion.
  • Collaborate with internal telecom teams to align with project standards and roll-out plans.
  • Provide engineering oversight and act as a technical authority on TAIT recommendations.
  • Evaluate system limitations, identify workarounds, and offer innovative problem-solving approaches.
  • Serve as the lead engineer responsible for delivering TAIT-based MHz and radio network solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Demonstrated experience with MHz and MLR radio system design and implementation.
  • Hands-on project experience configuring TAIT radios and developing supporting technical documentation.
  • Ability to independently evaluate and challenge vendor recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of telecom construction, materials, and installation processes.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with utility industry standards is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel to client sites as needed.

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
