Job summary

Insight Global is seeking professionals to design and install in-building broadband network architectures. The role covers hands-on coax/Cat6a cabling, coordinating installations, and evaluating multi-tenant buildings for network compatibility.

The position emphasizes front-line customer interaction and field support, with a 12-month contract that could extend up to 30 months. A four-year degree or equivalent field experience is preferred, along with a vehicle for tool transport.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and installing in-building network architectures.
• Ability to identify hazards in work areas and prevent incidents.
• Familiarity with CATV termination points (terminals, pedestals).
• Hands-on testing of coax and Cat6a Ethernet cabling.
• Must have a vehicle to transport tools/equipment.
• Experience working off ladders (various types).
• Experience drilling in multi-tenant and commercial buildings.
• Customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and install in-building networks for broadband transmission.
• Coordinate installation of new networks or equipment.
• Evaluate buildings for network compatibility and multi-tenant suitability.
• Lead large broadband build projects ensuring timely planning and execution.
• Produce as-built technical documentation.

Job description

Targeted Years of Experience: 5-7 Years Responsibilities:

12 month contract - upwards of 30 month

• Hands-on experience with the design and install of equipment used in transmitting broadband data over in-building networks


• Hand-on experience with coax, twisted pair copper or fiber optic cabling and complex networks as well as switching equipment


• Experience with coordinating installation of new in-building networks or equipment


• Ability to evaluate multi-tenant (residence and business) buildings to determine compatibility with different networks and systems


• Experience with managing large build projects involving broadband services, and ensure timely planning and implementation


• Experience with producing technical as-built documentation


• Ability to provide general ad-hoc operational support for local field engineering and sales teams

Must Have Skills:

• General knowledge & experience with the design and install of in-building network architectures


• General work area hazard identification & prevention


• Knowledge & experience with CATV provider termination points (e.g., terminals, pedestals)


• Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting coax and Cat6a Ethernet cabling


• Must possess a vehicle capable of transporting tools and equipment


• Hands-on experience working off of ladders (step/extension/folding)


• Hands-on experience with drilling in multiple dwelling/commercial buildings


• Frontline experience with working with customer/clients

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge & experience with Google Suite and other computer and mobility based applications


• A four-year college degree or equivalent field experience
