Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Telecommunications Design Engineer to support complex infrastructure projects in critical facilities and systems integration. The role is fully on site in Rock Hill, SC, with an early- to mid-career engineer who can handle structured cabling design and coordination across disciplines.

The position requires knowledge of NFPA, TIA, and BICSI standards, CAD/BIM proficiency (AutoCAD/Revit), and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering discipline with 2+ years of experience in the telecommunications structured cabling industry.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
Experience with CAD and BIM platforms such as AutoCAD or REVIT.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, EIT/FE, PE, LEED, CAPM, DBIA, or BICSI RCDD are a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop, coordinate, and track project requirements through the design lifecycle.
Coordinate cabling backbone, work area outlets, media, topology, and device locations with stakeholders.
Create detailed telecommunications space plans and pathway designs for inside and outside plant cabling.
Produce construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
Develop telecommunications construction specifications and BOMs.
Perform site surveys and develop technical solutions based on site conditions.
