Job Description

Telecomm Apprentice III - Telecomm Apprentice I

The Telecom Technician Apprentice III is an entry-level position designed to gain practical experience in telecommunications. The apprentice will assist with installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and inspection of telecommunications equipment, systems, and infrastructure under supervision. The role aims to develop knowledge of various telecommunications technologies, business processes, and emerging technologies.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with installation, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and systems.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, drawings, and inventory.
  • Inspect and maintain test equipment, tools, and safety gear.
  • Read and understand electronic and electrical diagrams and asset records.
  • Operate tools and equipment necessary for the job.
  • Assist team members as needed.
  • Follow safety rules and environmental practices.
  • Respond to emergency callouts.
  • Complete all required training.

The Apprentice III will develop skills in areas such as data networks, SCADA, fiber optics, electrical power systems, networking, and infrastructure support, based on assignment.

Qualifications:

Telecomm Apprentice III: ($30.05/hour)

  • Associate degree or equivalent in electrical/electronic technology or military training/experience; or high school diploma/GED.
  • Ability to understand and learn technical support skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Telecomm Apprentice II: ($33.84/hour)

  • Associate degree or equivalent, or high school diploma with 1 year related experience.
  • Knowledge of entry-level technical skills and 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Telecomm Apprentice I: ($36.95/hour)

  • Associate degree or equivalent, or high school diploma with 2+ years related experience.
  • Knowledge of basic technical support skills and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Additional Requirements:

  • Positive attitude, respectful behavior, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong electronics/telecommunications aptitude.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules, including call-outs and overtime.
  • Proficiency in computer and communication skills.

What You'll Get:

The physical demands include exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently, with work classified as medium exertion.
