Job summary

TechServ Engineering seeks a CAD Drafter to develop and revise drawings for utility design, permit applications, and telecommunications in an in-office role in Tyler, TX. You will plot drawings, follow drafting standards, and support Designers and Engineers on multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of drafting experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a willingness to learn new CAD software. Valid US work authorization and driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• High School Graduate or GED, documentation required.
• College degree or some college coursework in drafting technology or CAD certification, preferred.
• 1+ years of relevant drafting experience.
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize new CAD software programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers in a multi-discipline team.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings.
• Assist with preparing and revising plot drawings.
• Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design and permitting problems.
• Use CAD software for client projects after training.
• Interpret and apply design codes and specifications.
• Organize and maintain revisions of project drawings and related files.
• Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines on ongoing projects.
• Support internal change efforts to increase organizational effectiveness.
