Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of dedicated public relations experience in an agency or in-house environment, including at least 2 years in telecommunications, broadband, networking, or technology infrastructure.
• Proven ability to pitch stories and secure earned media coverage in relevant telecommunications and technology trade publications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing and AP Style proficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical subjects into accessible, persuasive narratives for media and business audiences.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside product marketing teams, technical subject matter experts, and executive leadership.
• Familiarity with public relations databases and media intelligence platforms such as Cision, Muck Rack, or Meltwater.
• Understanding of integrated marketing strategies, including SEO, digital public relations, and account-based marketing.
• Experience supporting crisis communications or issues management in telecommunications or technology environments is an asset.
• Ability to work remotely within the United States, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists covering telecommunications, broadband, technology, and business.
• Develop targeted media pitches to secure earned coverage in trade publications and major media outlets.
• Collaborate with marketing leadership to align external communications with business growth priorities.
• Write and edit press releases, media kits, white paper summaries, and executive Q&As.
• Prepare executives and technical experts for interviews and public appearances.
• Support PR activities around industry conferences, product announcements, and speaking engagements.
• Monitor media coverage and report campaign performance and ROI to marketing leadership.
• Coordinate crisis communications and protect brand reputation when issues arise.
• Collaborate with product marketing and technical teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
