Job summary

RingTele is hiring a Telecom Tax & Regulatory Compliance Manager for a fully remote, full-time role in the United States. You will own tax compliance, coordinate with outside counsel, and manage filings across federal and state levels.

You will review past filings, fix gaps, and lead remediation efforts while ensuring timely payments and accurate records. The role demands strong collaboration, ownership, and trust.)

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of telecom regulatory or compliance experience.
• Knowledge of multi-state telecom taxes, USF, 911/E911 fees, and related filings.
• Ability to coordinate with accounting, outside counsel, and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Own telecom tax compliance and remittances, coordinating with accounting and counsel.
• Review historical filings to identify gaps and develop an action plan.
• Lead resolution of past-due or unverified filings with deadlines.
• Reconcile tax liabilities with the finance team to ensure accuracy.
• Manage federal and state telecom requirements, including FCC filings and licenses.
• Train sales and operations teams on applicable compliance requirements.

What You'll Do as a Telecom Tax & Regulatory Compliance Manager

• Own telecom tax compliance and remittances, partnering with accounting and outside counsel to ensure accurate, timely filings and payments.
• Review historical tax and regulatory filings, identify gaps and risks, and develop a prioritized plan to resolve them.
• Lead the resolution of past-due or unverified filings and remittances, setting deadlines and keeping internal teams and outside counsel accountable.
• Reconcile tax liabilities with the finance team to ensure recorded amounts align with what is owed and paid.
• Manage federal and state telecom requirements, including FCC filings, USF/Form 499, CPNI certifications, E911, STIR/SHAKEN, outage reporting, PUC filings, tariffs, and license and certificate renewals.
• Direct outside regulatory counsel, track deliverables, and work with government agencies on filings and compliance matters.
• Maintain service agreements, terms of service, compliance calendars, and audit-ready records so deadlines, renewals, payments, and documentation stay on track.
• Train sales and operations teams on the compliance requirements that affect their work.

• Experienced: At least 3 years of telecom regulatory or compliance experience, along with required tax and accounting experience.
• Knowledgeable: Understands multi-jurisdiction telecom taxes, including state sales/use tax, 911/E911 fees, USF, and the remediation of past-due telecom tax filings.
• Analytical: Confidently review compliance and financial records, identify discrepancies and risks, and work with finance to reconcile liabilities.
• Ownership-Minded: Take responsibility for complex, multi-party compliance projects and drive them forward until outstanding issues are resolved.
• Clear Communicator: Communicate effectively in writing and work directly with leadership, finance, outside legal counsel, government agencies, and internal teams.
• Trustworthy: Handle sensitive financial, legal, and company information with discretion while supporting RingTele's mission-driven, faith-based culture.
