Job summary

Ziply Fiber seeks an Outside Plant Engineer to lead engineering design for local outside plant projects within a serving exchange area. The role partners with Network Planning, Central Office, and Operations to support growth, replacements, and upgrades of telecom plant facilities.

The candidate will manage projects, coordinate with utilities for joint trench, and ensure accurate cable records, ROWs, and permits. A valid driver's license and pre-employment screening are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an outside plant position.
• Outside plant construction project management experience and inventory management experience.
• Experience in ROW, private easement and permitting with local, state, and federal entities.
• Must demonstrate working knowledge of outside plant design, including cable count layouts and capacity planning.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
• Must complete a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Engineering design for outside plant projects locally.
• Support Build projects and proactive review of facilities upgrades.
• Coordinate with utilities for joint trench and attend preconstruction meetings.
• Frontline project management for construction activities and liaison with state, county, city, and national indices.
• Maintain and update cable records and ROW/easement information; prepare cost estimates for BDTs.
• Coordinate with sales, marketing, operations and regulatory as needed.
