Job summary

Syringa-Networks-LL seeks an Outside Plant Design Technician for our West Valley, Utah location. The role focuses on designing and drawing aerial and underground new construction builds, inspecting contractor work, and supporting project timelines.

Most tasks are field-based with overtime, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel may be up to 20% depending on business needs. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of design techniques, blueprints, and accuracy in technical plans.
• Experience with CAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to communicate with clients on construction practices.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
• Overtime and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings and worksheets using Visio and other software applications.
• Interpret Staking Sheets and Idaho TD/UtahDOT blueprints.
• Work in accordance with industry standards and safety procedures.
• Prepare engineering field notes and maps; recommend construction method changes.
• Enter and maintain outside plant records; support project contracts.
• Participate in engineering, permitting and construction processes to support contracts.
• Perform routine route maintenance including Hand Hole cleanup and sign placement.
• Travel up to 20% may be required.
