Job summary

TekCom Resources, Inc. seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily field operations, construction crews, and project performance for a telecommunications infrastructure organization in Canton, TX.

You’ll manage multiple projects, ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence, and lead field teams with a focus on productivity and quality. The role requires strong leadership in OSP, fiber deployment, and field operations, with travel to active sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5–10 years of experience in telecommunications construction, fiber optic infrastructure, OSP construction, utility construction, or related field.
• Proven experience supervising multiple construction crews, field teams, or projects.
• Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, production management, and resource allocation.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices, quality standards, and OSHA requirements.
• Ability to monitor project performance, manage competing priorities, and resolve operational challenges.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and travel to active construction sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across multiple telecommunications construction projects, field crews, and locations.
• Manage project schedules, workforce assignments, equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources to meet goals.
• Supervise field personnel and construction supervisors, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality.
• Monitor daily production quantities, milestones, labor utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee fiber construction activities, ensuring compliance with specs and customer requirements.
• Conduct regular field visits to evaluate progress and resolve challenges while maintaining quality.
• Track project costs, labor, equipment, and materials to support budgets.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, customers, and subcontractors to maintain schedules.
• Ensure OSHA and company safety procedures and construction standards are followed.
• Oversee administrative tasks: timesheets, reports, material tracking, invoicing, safety records.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, crew productivity, and project performance.
• Provide operational updates and performance reports to senior leadership.
