Job summary

LOUi Consulting Group, Inc. seeks a Cable Installer / Telecommunications Technician to install, test, and document copper and fiber-optic infrastructure for the Joint Base Charleston Base Telecommunications System.

You will perform maintenance, respond to outages, and ensure records accuracy and compliance with guidance and standards. The role requires hands-on cabling, testing with OTDR and certification tools, ability to read plans, and a valid driver’s license with base access credentials.

Qualifications

• Three years of hands-on experience installing and testing copper and fiber cables, unless BICSI cert held.
• Experience with OSP/ISP cabling, pathways, and terminations.
• Ability to read cable records, floor plans, and test documentation.
• Must meet safety and regulatory requirements for government facilities.
• Strong communication in English and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and repair copper and fiber cables and related components.
• Perform inside- and outside-plant maintenance and testing; update records.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and respond to outages or trouble tickets.
• Locate and mark underground cables; support GPS data collection.
