Job summary

Network Building + Consulting in Baltimore is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design team for telecommunications infrastructure projects and fiber networks. You will balance hands-on production with high-level mentorship to ensure designs meet standards and budget goals.

You will oversee field surveys, site plans, and coordination with Market and Project Managers, using AutoCAD, GIS, and MS Office to produce accurate, constructible drawings and deliverables on time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fiber design with a track record of managing project budgets.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office; able to interpret building codes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• Deep understanding of right‑of‑way, aerial pole surveys, cable placement, and construction techniques.
• Strong autonomous work ethic and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team in producing accurate engineering drawings for telecom infrastructure.
• Manage daily operations, delegate tasks, and mentor junior designers.
• Oversee field surveys, mappings, and civil investigations.
• Collaborate with Market and Project Managers to allocate resources and meet deadlines.
