Job summary

Bristol Alliance of Companies is seeking a Telecommunications Technician 1 or 2 to perform highly technical installations and diagnostic testing on structured cabling systems and network components. The role involves working with fiber optic and copper systems, reading plans, and coordinating with team members on project tasks.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years of experience in the field or related area.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install and test structured cabling systems (fiber optic and copper) and telecom equipment.
• Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and cut sheets.
• Coordinate with team leads or foremen and assist or lead as required.
• Ensure grounding, bonding, and fire-stopping procedures meet standards.
• Conduct site surveys and plan upgrades for basic systems.
• Operate test equipment and diagnose telecom systems.
• Maintain professional conduct and communicate with non-technical teams.
