Job summary

Talus Development, LLC recruits for a field crew role focused on installing underground telecommunications cabling and supporting general construction tasks. You will operate trucks and hand tools, transport equipment and materials, and perform daily safety checks in diverse outdoor environments.

Travel is required for out-of-town assignments, with a strong emphasis on adhering to FMCSA rules and safety protocols while coordinating with Foreman and customers on site.

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb into and out of equipment (cars, trucks, backhoes, trenchers, etc).
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Know and obey all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Rules and Regulations.
• Perform repetitive motion with hand, wrist, feet, head, and shoulder.
• Work outdoors in a diverse environment.
• Work in congested and remote areas.
• Stand or sit for several hours.
• Work in small/sometimes confined areas.
• Work in variable heights/depths.
• Lift/carry up to 75+ pounds.
• Maintain awareness of coworkers and moving vehicles/objects for safety.
• Willing to travel and occasional out-of-town assignments.

Responsibilities

• Performs general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor.
• Hand dig holes and trenches with a shovel and other hand tools.
• Basic knowledge of underground cable locating.
• Operates various types of trucks and equipment.
• Responsible for transporting equipment and materials.
• Install underground telecommunications cabling.
• Flagging traffic, setup safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers.
• Performs daily walkarounds and alerts mechanics of any defects.
• Communicates effectively with customers and employees.
